Blue India

Good Morning Lovelies!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!  Mine went by WAY too fast, and sadly, wasn't as productive as I would have liked!  We went to my father-in-laws on Sunday(he lives 20 to 25 minutes away) like we do every weekend, planning to bang out a bunch of Konaicures to put away in the vault, so I'd have something for all you wonderful readers when I'm not as prolific in my nail time as I'd like.  I took off the mani I was sporting, which I'm about to show you, to discover that the bottom half of my middle nail was lifting terribly!  Since it freaks me out to even think about the possibility of some kinda fungal issue, this had to be remedied!  So, Rob, bless his heart, ran home for me, and an hour later I was starting to do a fill-in.  Grrrr.  The waiting and the filling in took away valuable Konad time.  POO!!!  Ok, enough whining...ON TO THE KONADICURE!!!!

But first...alittle story behind the Konadicure...
My Mom and Sister went to India a few years back on a misson trip through our church.  This trip had MANY ups and downs, momments of terror and moments of beauty.  The pictures they brought back of the beautiful people and the gorgeous children are enough to make anyone want to run there!  They brought me back two Punjabi's (Mom, correct me if I'm wrong here!), and they are just gorgeous!  I'll have to show you guys sometime!  For whatever reason, every time I think of India, I think of deep jewel tones and gold.  The swirly design on M64 reminds me of India, so I decided to play with that!
I started with 2 coats of Sephora by OPI Opening Night, a very nice dark blue shimmer.  Then added that design from M64 using China Glaze Passion.  This isn't as warm a gold as I would like, so it looks like I'll be buying a new Gold Chrome as soon as I can find one!  This turned out looking almost silver, so I decided to play and try tracing the pattern with a gold glitter Art Deco nail art paint.  Better, but not exactly.  Oh well, here's the pics for ya!

This is under a Halogen light.

and under a regular Incandescent light.

I finally got my EvilShades Cosmetics order swatched, but left the pics at home, POO!  So be looking for that one day this week!  There are some mighty pretty colors she has!

That's all for today my lovely readers!

Thanks for visiting!
I hope you have a fantastic day!

I love this combo! :) That is one of my favorite konad plate designs. :)

sidenote: I joined the obsessed beauty junkie's site. I just saw Michelle is friends with you. Would you mind telling her that I can't comment on her posts. Seeing that no one has commented, I think no one can! :) I don't want her to think people are ignoring her. :) Thanks!

What an amazing thing that your Mother and sister have done. My cousin had visited there while he was in the Air Force. He said it was the most beautiful and most horrible place he's ever been. It was horrible because of the extreme poverty. Your manicure does remind me of India. The beautiful patterns of saris. Love that manicure.
