Review: China Glaze "Poolside"

Oh boy do I have a treat for ya today!

I LOVE this collection!

Now...Blame it on my brain, or more accurately, blame it on the sleep deprivation that comes from having just about everything that can go wrong, actually go wrong while trying to help my husband fix a broken rocker arm shaft in time for my father-in-law to leave today for Michigan for 2 weeks and multiple races, and not getting in bed til after 1:30 am, then dragging myself outa the bed when the alarm went off at 4:45...but I left my notes at home!  GRRR  I will go off memory (oh dear) as best I can, and will update first thing in the morning, any coat counts I got wrong!

Oh...and one more thing...did I just win the award for longest run on sentence ever????  I DID????  SWEET!
:::clears though and steps up to podium:::
"I'd like to thank my frazzled brain, and the engine part supply guy (who shall remain nameless) that Rob worked for eons ago, for giving my father-in-law 2 push rods last night at almost 11:30, 1 of which was shorter than Rob asked for, the other which was a touch too long but would have worked...IF IT WASN'T BENT!!!"

Ok I think I got that out of my system now!  WHEW!

Back to our regularly scheduled programing...

POOLSIDE!  Yeah, that's what I was talking about!   IT ROCKS!!!  Ready to see some pics?
First I'd like to note that I took all outdoor shade pics, because I find neons show most color and brightness accurate in indirect natural light!
The swatches were done with no top coat.
Index and Ring had a coat of white polish applied first, Middle and Pinkie were bare (acrylic) nail.

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini
 Oh yeah!  Highlighter Yellow!
LOVE this color!
Index and ring is 2 coats over 1 coat of white polish.  But I could have gotten away with 1 very easily! The second made no difference what so ever!(excuse the oops on the index finger)
Middle and pinkie is 4 coats, no base.

Sun Worshiper
Yellowish Orange!
Am I the only one that see's this and is immediatly reminded of that famous blue box?
This is DEFINITELY Kraft Mac&Cheese fake-cheese-orange!
Index and ring is 2 coats over 1 coat of white polish.
Middle and pinkie is 3 coats, no base.

Flip Flop Fantasy
Coral-y Pink
I usually don't go for corals, but I actually liked this color alot!
This is the color of radioactive roses! LOL
Index and ring is 2 coats over 1 coat of white polish.
Middle and pinkie is 2 coats,  no base.
This one I had some streaking issues, which is why I had to go with 3 coats over the white.  This is 100% my fault because I was applying this with my dominate hand, and I suck at that!  LOL
I am certain 2 coats over white would work just fine!

Pool Party
Rosey Pink!
This is my favorite of the collection!
I am just a sucker for a bright, kick-butt pink!
Index and ring is 2 coats over 1 coat of white polish.
Middle and pinkie is 3 coats, no base

Towel Boy Toy
Bright (almost)Aqua Blue with Blue Shimmer!
Very pretty color.
Though I did feel this was a case of "one of these things is not line the other".
This is more of a bright than a neon...add the shimmer and it really stands out!
Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous!
This one was a bit watery for me.
Index and ring is 3 coats over white polish.
Middle and pinkie is 3 or 4 coats, no base

Kiwi-Cool-Ada
Green Highlighter Green!  LOL
I haven't the slightest what to call this other than, highlighter green!
Index and ring is 3 coats over white polish
Middle and pinkie is 3 coats, no base.

Beautiful neon collection!
My only two complaints is the watery consistancy of Towel Boy Toy, and the lack of a purple neon!  LOL  You know me, I LOVE my purples, so no purple makes me cry!  WAH!!!   :)
You know what I love about neons?  They make that tan look even darker!  LOVE!!!
If you love neons like me, I highly recommend snatching these up!

OOOOOoooo just wait til I show you what I did with these tomorrow!!!!
Probably my most favorite mani EVER!!!!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!
I gotta clock back in from lunch now and try not to pass out and drool on my keyboard!
Office Manager duties can get kinda monotonous sometimes!  LOL

China Glaze Vintage Vixen Review

Good Morning!

Today I have something VERY exciting to show you!

China Glaze "Vintage Vixen", which is their Fall 2010 Collection.

I swatched these yesterday which REALLY messed with my head, since it was in the upper 90's and super humid, and here I am swatching colors that SCREAM fall, and coziness, and bring to mind sweaters and chenille throws!

First of all I must apologize about a few things.  The sun kept playing hide and seek, so I will be showing you all natural, indirect light pics, with the exception of 2 polishes that I HAD to show you in the sun so you could see the beautiful shimmer better!  These were all 2 coaters which I LOVE!  And all swatches are with no topcoat.
So without further ado... here we go!
(all pics are clickable for bigger view)

Bogie
(excuse the polish leftovers on my ring finger cuticle, sorry!)
Plum-Purple with gorgeous Shimmer!
Initially it seems the shimmer is silver, but if you look closely it is multicolored!

Emerald Fitzgerald
Blueish Green with a silver-green-blue shimmer!
Midnight Mission
Navy Blue with SUPER fine Silver glitter.
Even though I've never owned or seen Starry Starry Night in person, This reminds me of that!
Not a dupe, But similar!
And fear not glitter haters, this removes like any regular polish, no pain in the butt glitter issues!

First Class Ticket
Royal Purple with pink-blue-silvery shimmer!
The one I marked as my favorite from the promo pics!
You know how I feel about purple ladies, and this one is just gorgeous!
The sun cooperated with this one so I was able to snap a full sun pic, behold:
Just look at that color!  AHHHH!!!  So gorgeous!

Swing Baby
So hard to describe this beauty!
Silver, Gold, and a touch of Copper shimmer all together in one mega awesome polish!
I liked it in the bottle but on the nail, it just blew me away!

Hey Doll
Dusty Rose with silvery-multi shimmer
A touch mature for my taste but that's just me!

Foxy
Rusty Red with TONS of gold shimmer!
This was a surprise!
I usually dont go for rusty shades but this one is super pretty!
Classic Camel
Buttery camel color with beautiful gold shimmer!
This was a HUGE surprise for me!
I saw the promo pics, I saw others swatches, I saw the bottle and all I could think was YUCK!....
Then I put it on and was SHOCKED!  I really like this color! Very Unique!

Ingrid
Taupey-Mousy-Brown with Gold Shimmer!
LOVE this color!  WOW!
Check it out in the sun:
Isn't it just gorgeous???  LOVE!

Goin' My Way?
Coppery-Bronzy-Brown metallic with Golden shimmer
Do I even have to say it?  Gorgeous!

Jitterbug
Charcoal foil with super fine Silver glitter.
My absolute FAV!
This one is so different from every silver toned polish I own.  It's actually a bit darker in reality, and just absolutly amazing!  Goes on so buttery smooth!  And again Glitter Haters, this does NOT remove like a glitter!

Riveter Rogue
Red with super fine Gold Glitter.
Another winner!
Pretty and unique, at least to my collection.
Does feel a touch gritty but I am confident a coat of top coat would fix that right up!
But, still doesn't have the normal removal problems that glitters cause!

So my friends, this collection is a total winner!  There is ALWAYS at least 1 polish in a collection that I'm not thrilled with, but I just LOVE every single one of these! Formula on these were just wonderful!   The only thing I can say to the negative is that a few of my brushes were a touch wonky!  This was a HUGE shock to me since I have too many China Glaze polishes to count and have NEVER had a problem with the brush!  2 of the brushes almost curved outward at the tips and another seemed a bit thin and didn't seem to want to flare.  I meant to get pics but I think the heat and polish fumes (I swatched 18 polishes in a row!) fried my brain and I forgot!  Since this has never happened to me before I am gonna chalk it up to just plain old once in a blue moon kinda stuff.  It certainly didn't make them unmanageable!
I highly recommend getting this collection!  There are just too many beauties to pass up!

That's it for today my dears!
I'll be back tomorrow with a more heat appropriate collection!

Sorry for the reflection!
This Collection ROCKS!

Let's jump right in to the swatches!
All swatches are with no base or top coats!
Once I was editing the pics, I noticed I frequently had color left on my fingers from not being careful and thorough while taking off the previous color, so I'm sorry for the multicolored fingers!

How awesome is that!

This collection absolutely ROCKS!
There were a few polishes that were ever so slightly thick, but a few drops of thinner will fix that right up!
I was so pleased that the yellow was so smooth and had no streaking issues!
Fantastic brush, fantastic formula, fantastic colors...what more could you want!

UPDATED(COOL NEW PIC)Hyperfest 2010 a.k.a, What We Did Saturday!

Well Good Evening Ladies!

A post from me in the evening???  YUP!  My back is wonky today so I'm not allowed to lift!  So I'm sitting here watching Rob bench, and feeling lazy and fat!  lol

SO, I decided this was a good time to get the post I intended for today up!

Saturday we decided to take our Motorcycle out for a nice ride over to Summit Point Raceway to see some friends competing in a car we (1320 Speed & Kustom, our business) donated roll cage welding on.
 Honda VTX 1800F
Yes, 1800cc engine!  That's Massive!
In 2006 it was the biggest V-Twin in production! (not sure if it still is)
Exhaust valves the size of a P51 Mustang!
It's displacement per cylinder is greater than a 426 Hemi!
Massive Torque monster!
Crank shaft alone weighs over 40lbs!
Can ya tell I LOVE this bike???

ANYWAY...
I'm sure alot of you have heard of the "24 Hours of Le Mans" right?  Well this race is called "24 hours of LeMons!"  LOL  The cars couldn't cost more than $500!  How fun is that!  I SOOOO wanna do this!  Alot of the cars people REALLY had fun with, so Rob took a bunch of pictures so I could share some of the really fun ones with you!  Ready?  Here we go!

This is the car Rob donated his AMAZING welding skills to!  A good friend of his is the one who put the team together.  See the 1320 Speed & Kustom sticker along the side of the hood?

Viking Ship car!

SWAT car, complete with Machine Gun on top!

No idea, but still creative!

Yet another "I have no clue" but I liked the old school Police lights on top!

Tank!

Cow car!

Afterburners!  If I remember correctly the other side has Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner.

Frog car!  How cute is THAT!

Here's a few shots of the track!
How fun would it be to drive that!?!?!?!?

There was also a Car Show goin on, and since you guys only ever get to see the hotrods, since that's all we ever go see, I thought you might get a kick outa seeing some other stuff!
Honda, baby!

ELEANOR!!!
(if you know where that is from you get bonus cool points!)
Powered by a Big Block Ford 428 Super Cobra Jet Motor, with 2 4Barrel Carburetors!
Same Engine I build for my Father-in-Law's Galaxie!

One last pic!
I saw the paint on this Air Intake pipe and HAD to get a pic...check it out!

Charcoal Holo Paint!!!!!
I have GOT to find out where they got that paint!!!

There was also Drifting, Go Kart Racing, and even a Roll Over Contest, but we got ROASTED in the sun and didn't stick around long enough to get to see it all!

That's all I got for you today my Lovelies!

Hope you have a great night!
