Memorial Day Mani

Good Morning Lovelies!

Today I have my Memorial Day Tribute Mani to show you!

The explanation part of this is a bit complicated, so bear with me while I try to explain the process I went through to achieve these nails.

Here are the supplies I used for all but the ring fingers.

I began with 2 coats of the Depend polish, which sadly I can't give you a number for.  I have no clue where to locate it on the bottle.

Then I broke out my Konad and used plate M62, the cow pattern.
First, using Color Club "Charity Ball" and stamping the pattern the way you normally would.
Then, using Zoya "Envy", I turned the stamp, so that the length of the stamp ran across the nail, rather than down the length.  This resulted in having to double stamp the image, which as you can see in the pictures, is quite easy with this design.
And viola ... Camo!
Now, for the Ring finger/ accent nail!
First I applies 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Whirlwind White", my old standby!
Then I taped off a diagonal tip using masking tape.
Next I broke out my Bundle Monster plates and used the striped image from BM20 to stamp stripes on the lower half, using Konad special polish in Wine.
As you will see, I have not yet mastered the Bundle Monster plates!
Next, I took off the tape and painted the tips with China Glaze "Frostbite".
Finally I fished some star glitters out of Claire's Starstruck and stuck them on the tips.
Top it off with a coat of Seche and:
Now... If you're like me, shiny Camo is just WRONG!  So, I added Essie Matte About You:
Much better!
You can't tell from the pic, but I left the ring finger shiny.

NOW...It took a bit to figure out the camo, First I used Color Club "High Society"

instead of "Charity Ball", but it was too transparent.
I did however, mix "High Society" with "Charity Ball" and rather liked the outcome.  So here is a comparison for ya,just so you know you have options:
Top nail is using "Charity Ball"
Bottom nail is using "Charity Ball" and "High Society" mixed.

That's it for today my lovelies!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

WAAAAY Past Due Mother's Day Mani!

Good Morning Lovelies!

Yesterday flew by with all it's craziness, I'm so sorry I didn't get a post done for you!

BUT!  Today I have my Mother's Day Mani to show ya!

But first...WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!  I hit 500 Followers!  Thank you all so very much!  I am so excited!
I am currently collecting items for a giveaway, so give me a week or two and I'll have that up!  I'll give a hint as to one of the prizes I already have....ya'll better put on some shades!

Ok...now back to our regularly scheduled post...
I had intended to do a full week of Mother's day Inspired Mani's, but it kinda snuck up on me!
Since my sister was still at college and Rob and I were on our way back from visiting Ange and Andrea, we actually celebrated Mother's day on the Saturday after the actual day.  I wanted to do something that pertained to Mom...She is go at so many things!  She can just dump stuff in a bowl(no measuring) and come out KILLER bread, she can tear apart and rebuild a computer, shes a whiz with accounting stuff(she taught me how to do my job!), she knits, crochets, sews, does cross stich, quits, etc etc.... Bu tI had to pick one!  I settled on Quilting and went about googling basic quilt block patterns to copy on the nail.  I was actually mostly happy with how it turned out...but MAN does it look rough in these pics!  STUPID MACRO SETTING!!!

There are many different quilt styles, and one of Mom's favs is super bright fabrics used with black...WOW do they pop like CRAZY!  I intended to try to mask off each section and stamp it to give a fabric effect, but time got away from me and I had to quit without that added touch.  Wish I woulda stayed up and done it!

Here's a quilt Mom made my sister!  I LOVE it.  This is as she had it laid out to sandwich, and pin together the layers and baste!
  Isn't it AWESOME!

What I used:
Base: 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Whirlwind White, to make sure the colors popped!
Blue - OPI "Ogre the Top Blue"
Pink - Franken made by mixing China Glaze "Pink Underground" and a touch of Sinful Colors "Dream On"
Green - OPI "Who the Shrek are You"
Yellow - China Glaze "Happy Go Lucky"

Wet and Wild "Black Creme"
Stripe Rite Black Striper
Stupid Macro...showing all the flaws you couldn't really see in reality!  :(

That's it for today!
I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!

Cruisin' Ocean City Finale: The Outfits and Fav Places!

Good Afternoon Lovelies!

Today I'll be wrapping up my coverage (lol) of Cruisin' Ocean City.

First I'll share with ya what I wore.  I know many of you probably don't care at all, but for those who are interested, I figured I'd share.  It's kinda fun to branch out and cover different things than I normally do.

Thursday
Sorry for the craptastic mirror shot!
I learned my lesson and had Rob take them the rest of the time.
Sad that you cant see the flower in my hair!  It's outer petals are Leopard and the inner petals are Red.
Got it at Hot Topic.
The shirt came from Frederick's of Hollywood.
And got the shoe-stringless Chuck knock offs at Kohls.
Also sporting my RatRod belt buckle, but it didn't show up in the pics:(

Friday
I changed MULTIPLE times this day so here's how it went down
Since we were gonna run out to breakfast, I got half dressed in that days outfit, didn't do the hair or the lipstick, threw on jeans and went to EAT!

Came back and changed into this:
WOW was this outfit a HUGE hit!
I was asked, for the first time in my life, to pose with peoples cars so they could have a pic of me with their car!  I also had multiple people take pics of me on the sly (Rob caught them, lol) and take pics while I was posing with a car for Rob, LOL.  Talk about embarrassing and overwhelming at the same time!  I'm not used to getting attention like that.  I don't ever get noticed!
The older guys got such a kick out of it!  That made me happy!  One guy even wanted his pic with me and his car!  Then gave me a kiss on the cheek! :)
I love that doing something I enjoy, like dressing retro, makes others happy too!

Here's a few pics for that day for ya:
Best pose of the day, with the worst car! lol
It's one of Rob's buddies car, which is why he took a pic of me with it!
Why does it always happen that way!

How cute is that car?!?!
It's a BMW!
The front opens and that's how you get in!

Later that day we went to Hall's, a seafood buffet place for dinner (LOVE IT) and I KNEW I'd get crab juice all over my skirt, so I changed into this:
Shoulda put the belt back on!

Saturday
Uh, yeah, stupid momment...forgot to take an outfit pic! LOL
But here's one with my DREAM car!
Yes, my legs look shortened...no, I dont know why! LOL

Now...On to the places we like to go!
After reading Amanda's comment on yesterday's post, I REALLY wanna try TC Diner!  I LOVE diners!!!

For Breakfast we go to:
We ALWAYS love it here, but this time the food wasn't quite as good as normal, odd!
I'll definitely be checking out that diner in October!  Thanks Amanda!

For lunch, and dinner (sometime on the same day, yes it's that good) we go here:
didn't get a day pic, sorry!
Fat Daddy's!  They have a location right off the boardwalk and around 82nd st (I think)
They're food is consistently AWESOME!
AND, I am a lemonade FREAK..they make their own, with real hand squeezed lemons, Sugar (not syrup!) and water and ice!  It is mixed when you order it!  and it is paradise in a cup!  AND now I'm drooling just thinking about it!
Rob ALWAYS gets the Cheesesteak sub!  But everything ROCKS!  great Onion Rings too!
With sandwich names like "Dirt Burger", "Jumanji", "Funky Gump" and the "Gringo Gusto" how can you resist!

Now....are you ready for the best place EVER?
Seriously, sometimes we go here twice a day!
Why you may ask....
Strawberry Shortcake with Home-made Icecream!
I ALWAYS get this!

I can't remember this one, but Rob usually gets this!  Caramel and Hot Fudge sundae!

Seriously, If you like ice cream at all...go here!

And Now I am STARVING!!!

That's it for today and for the Cruise In!

Hope I didn't bore you all to tears!

I'll be back tomorrow with a Mani for ya!

Have a great day!

Cruisin' Ocean City Part 2: The Nails and the Haul!

Good Morning Lovelies!

Ok, ready to see the nails I sported for the weekend?

Before I show you, keep a few things in mind...I did these off of my nails and glued them on once we arrived.  It would have taken WAY too long to do them, then wait for them to dry, to do them on myself!  Plus it made painting WAY easier!  My thumbs and middle finger nails wound up being longer than I wanted(due to the image I put on it), which was even more glaring considering I accidentally cut my ring finger nail on my right hand WAY to short!  For some nails I decoupaged an image out of a catalog onto my nail, for others I free handed.  TRUST me, you can see easily which is which!  The middle fingers were done the same way I did them for the Wicked Vixen mani, except this time I used shimmery paints!

Thumb: Rat Fink from a Moon Eyes Catalog
Index: Mr Horsepower from a Moon Eyes Catalog
Middle: WV logo used as stencil, sponged flame, hand painted 8ball
Ring: Hand painted V8
Pinkie: Hand painted Cherries (was sad at how this turned out)

Thumb: Lady Luck from a Moon Eyes Catalog
Index: 1320 Speed & Kustom Logo (our business)  Shoulda used a brighter red and off white letters!
Middle: WV logo used as stencil, sponged flame, (poorly)hand painted dice
Ring: Moon Eyes Logo and lettering from Moon Eyes Catalog
Pinkie:  Route 66 sign from Moon Eyes Catalog

And how...The Haul!

First we stopped at Ulta on the way up and I grabbed these:
Not color accurate at ALL!
Shake your Blue-ty  & Blue-Mmmm

Then I ran into a CVS to grab more makeup remover and about passed out when I found this:
Top Row:  Bora Bora & Kauai
Bottom Row: Milani "I'm Online",  W&W's "Barbados", "Cabana", and "Sumatra" and Milani "2.0"

Then, Rob and I were cruisin by an outlet mall type dealie and I spotted a sign..."5Below" !
I about jumped outa the car right then and there!  FUNKY FINGERS!
Moonwalk(black with holo glitter)
Hyperi (purple with gold iridescent glitter)
Bella's Boy (Aqua with gold iridescent glitter)

L.A. Girls Rockstar "Groupie"  Oh how I have wanted this polish!
Alice (gorgeous blue foil)
Jester (purple scattered holo!)
Boubon St. (Pink, Orange, Copper, Gold multichrome!)

That's it for today my wonderful readers!

Tomorrow I'll share a few more car pics (the ones I was in), The outfits I sported(just cause it's something a little different from the norm) and a few places I HIGHLY recommend visiting if you are ever in Ocean City!!!

Have a great day!

Cruisin' Ocean City Recap Part 1

Good Morning Lovelies!

WOW!  What an awesome time we had in Ocean City!  I have SO MUCH to show you!  So much in fact I am gonna have to break it up over at least 3 days!  I have over 30 car pics alone to show you!
Today I will cover the cars, then Nails and Polish haul tomorrow, then places we love to go in OC, in case any of you ever decide to go for vacation or otherwise, and Outfits, cause I thought it would be fun to share those too!

So without further ado....be prepared for massive awesomeness overload!   Click to make BIG....and be patient...it'll take a bit to load!

I'm gonna start with the Rat Rod.  Because they are my Favorite.  Rat Rods are (usually) rusty, pieced-together cars.  I actually started thinking this weekend about why I love the Rat Rod so much, and I think I figured it out.  It's the fact that there is no "right" way to build a Rat Rod.  Anything goes!  It's the ultimate creative outlet!  Every one has touches that no other Rat Rod has!  Here are my FAV's from this weekend!

Yes, that's a Pabst can, being used as an overflow tank!  LOVE IT!

Now...The shiney pretties:
I've decided I HAVE to have this interior for my '63 Fairlane!

General Lee!

Why yes, that IS a 4-wheel drive '57 Chevy!

Super Modified Bug!!!

Ugly-Awesome

And now, a few oddballs:

MASSIVE truck!

Coolest. Bike. EVER!

This little car was just ADORABLE!  See that Key looking piece sticking out of the back?  It spun as they drove!  TOO CUTE!

I've got more car pics, but I am in them, so I'll show they to you in the outfit post on Wednesday!

Hope you enjoyed all the pretties!
Have a great day!
