V-Day manis! Day 4: A Musical Fail :(

Good Morning Lovelies!

Today's Konadicure is a big fat FAIL.  But...I thought I'd show you anyway and give you an idea I just had on how to make it work!  First, the fail...

I started with the Franken blush color I use for my frenches and applied 1 coat.

Next I stamped on the musical design from M73, using Special Polish in Black.

I wanted to stamp a rose on top of this using fauxnad plate K01 (there is an almost identical rose on Konad M25, but I don't have that plate).  I used Special polish in Red to do this stamp on my pinky first, and discovered it was too translucent.  So I then tried stamping with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Pronto Purple, and nope, still too translucent.  At this point it was late and I just wanted to be done, so I took it off and redid my nails with my planned koni and went to bed.  So first...the carnage:

Sorry, I was so bummed out, I didn't even clean up prior to taking the pics.

Now, my idea.  I'll do this this weekend to see if it works for ya.  I'm thinking I should stamp the Rose first, then stamp the Rose image in an address label and cut it out and stick it over the rose.  Then go back and stamp the Music pattern.  I think that might work!

That's it for now my Lovely Readers!

Have a great day!!!

I love the idea of that mani, it reminds me of Beauty and the Beast lol!

Oh, so sad it stays translucent, it's a great idea. I hope it will work with label paper :)

I love your pink frankie- neutral but not boring!
I actually like this mani! The roses are easily discernible so I don't really see a fail.

Making a masking template is a brilliant idea! I had thought to use some artists "brush-on" masking before, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find it in my acrylic stash.

This totally makes me think of phantom of the opera! love! And I hardly ever do clean up in my pics so everyone can see how easy the polish is to control. If its a big fat mess, or a beautiful dream to work with

Great idea! It's really too bad it didn't work out. But it looks like you'll have a way to fix it, so I can't wait to see!

It looks gorgeous just like that, like the rose is background to the music... yes, definitely Phantom of the Opera, I agree with Ange-Marie.
I had to read your solution several times over to understand what you meant... my IQ must have dropped off on my way to work, lol. But using a mask -- wow, that's dedication to your art!

I really like this one. I'm a fan of any mani that uses this particular stamp from M73...it's the entire reason I got myself some konads. LOVE that stamp...and I really like the idea of the roses with it. Just like you did it. It's really pretty.

I agree with the others. A perfect Phantom of the Opera manicure. I think it looks pretty and not a fail. Looks like the translucency was on purpose. I'll still be waiting for your next design.
