WAAAAY Past Due Mother's Day Mani!

Good Morning Lovelies!

Yesterday flew by with all it's craziness, I'm so sorry I didn't get a post done for you!

BUT!  Today I have my Mother's Day Mani to show ya!

But first...WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!  I hit 500 Followers!  Thank you all so very much!  I am so excited!
I am currently collecting items for a giveaway, so give me a week or two and I'll have that up!  I'll give a hint as to one of the prizes I already have....ya'll better put on some shades!

Ok...now back to our regularly scheduled post...
I had intended to do a full week of Mother's day Inspired Mani's, but it kinda snuck up on me!
Since my sister was still at college and Rob and I were on our way back from visiting Ange and Andrea, we actually celebrated Mother's day on the Saturday after the actual day.  I wanted to do something that pertained to Mom...She is go at so many things!  She can just dump stuff in a bowl(no measuring) and come out KILLER bread, she can tear apart and rebuild a computer, shes a whiz with accounting stuff(she taught me how to do my job!), she knits, crochets, sews, does cross stich, quits, etc etc.... Bu tI had to pick one!  I settled on Quilting and went about googling basic quilt block patterns to copy on the nail.  I was actually mostly happy with how it turned out...but MAN does it look rough in these pics!  STUPID MACRO SETTING!!!

There are many different quilt styles, and one of Mom's favs is super bright fabrics used with black...WOW do they pop like CRAZY!  I intended to try to mask off each section and stamp it to give a fabric effect, but time got away from me and I had to quit without that added touch.  Wish I woulda stayed up and done it!

Here's a quilt Mom made my sister!  I LOVE it.  This is as she had it laid out to sandwich, and pin together the layers and baste!
  Isn't it AWESOME!

What I used:
Base: 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Whirlwind White, to make sure the colors popped!
Blue - OPI "Ogre the Top Blue"
Pink - Franken made by mixing China Glaze "Pink Underground" and a touch of Sinful Colors "Dream On"
Green - OPI "Who the Shrek are You"
Yellow - China Glaze "Happy Go Lucky"

Wet and Wild "Black Creme"
Stripe Rite Black Striper
Stupid Macro...showing all the flaws you couldn't really see in reality!  :(

That's it for today!
I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!

A quilter once told me that the rule of thumb for looking at a quilt is if you couldn't see a flaw while sitting on a galloping horse, it's all good. LOL I love your mani. The colors are great! An aren't mom-made quilts the best - my mom makes them, too and they're some of my most treasured possessions.

Your Mother is a wonderfully talented quilter. Love the quilt she made your sister. Beautiful work. My Mother made me one out of squares of old clothes. I don't have it anymore but I do have a small one. I really admire anyone who can do that work. I know how mucy work goes into the quilt. Love your nails. I like all the quilt patterns.
