Eclipse Inspired Mani

Yes....I am a Twilight fan.

No...I'm not one of "those" fans!  I don't scream every time Jacob appears on screen shirtless.  and I don't melt into a puddle every time Edward ways something charming.  I really enjoy the books and movies, but my life doesn't revolve around them!

OK! Wanted to get that out of the way before I got all the "OMG you like Twilight????  What's WRONG with you!!!" comments!  LOL

Today's mani I did back when the movie was getting ready to come out.  I had on a base of China Glaze "Jitterbug" and it struck me that it reminded me of the ominous black and grey cloudy background of the poster.  Just that dark grey, before dawn kinda color.

Here is my inspiration:

I wanted to try to recreate that actual eclipse going on on the poster.

So after the base of Jitterbug, I slapped a hole reinforcement on 1 nail.
Using China Glaze "Millennium", I stamped just along the edge making sure I was thicker in the "middle" and thinner as I went out.
Then I broke out a burgundy-wine jelly franken I have and stamped that on along the edge as well, making sure to leave the appropriate spots bright (with just the Millennium showing).
Next, I removed the  hole reinforcement, and painted over the area that it has covered with Wet and Wild "Black Creme".
Then, just to add interest, I painted over jitterbug on my pinky with the wine jelly polish.

Prepare your self for a terrible, blurry, not enough lighting picture!
(yes, I think I have been infected by something that has rendered me incapable of taking a decent picture!)
I'm not gonna lie and say I loved it...I didn't, but it was ok, so I figured I's share!
This was a "Wow, that looked WAY better and easier to do, in my head" kinda things!

Well, that's it for today!

HOPEFULLY I'll find time to get something up again tomorrow!
If not, then I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

I don't like Twilight AT ALL, but I do like your manicure! I think I would try doing what you did on the middle nail, but instead of doing the dark red jelly, I would put a thin line of deep red creme between the black and silver. Just an idea!

I loved the books and I'm beginning to love the movies. But, like you, I don't sqee when I see Jacob (but he IS yum!) and I don't melt with Edward's every whisper. I like your mani - very creative!

Nice! I'm also a Twilight fan, wanted to have the book covers on my nails but that didn't turned out well. Looked plain awful. This looks really nice and creative!

I love your manicure, because its not a literal translation of the book, and don't worry I like Twilight as well..you are not alone :)

I still love Trueblood better :)

I loved the movies and I've just read the first book. I'm sure that the books are much better. I'm not one of "those" Twilight crazy people but I really enjoy the story. I appreciate the attempt to recreate the poster. I think your manicure turned out really nice. Thanks for the effort. Have a wonderful weekend.

I'm a closet fan of Twilight, but I hate what it's done to the vampire genre.

And you may not have loved this, but I definitely like it a lot :)
