Wow, What Happened?!?!?

Hey everyone!

Wow, what on earth happened to that 4 day weekend?
Basically, here's what I've been up to the past few days!

Thursday was awesome!!!
We got to Mom's shortly after 9am.  And had an AWESOME breakfast of pumpkin cinnamon rolls that my sister made.  OH MY GOSH they were good!  WOO!  We all basically have decided she's making them every time she comes home now.  I made a Cajun Turkey, Stuffing, Corn Casserole, and Scalloped Potatoes.  Rob took pics so I will be sharing that over at Polishing Off.  Mom made Lasagna, Rolls, Her Famous Cranberry Sauce, and Salad.  And Cassie made Pumpkin Pie and Pecan Pie...WOW soooo good!
Everything was awesome!  I'm so glad I am related to fantastic cooks!
Then we got to bed around 11pm

Friday!!!
I got up at 2am.  yes...2am.
Met the Family at 4am at Kohls...why you may ask?  Cause they had a sweater I have wanted forever
for $13.  Yes, a Sweater!
Then we headed over to Target and I got some towels and bathmats for 1.50, Flannel sheets for like $12 I think, and I picked up a few Christmas Presents for my Sister!
Next stop was Micheal's where I picked up some great Jewelry stuff!
Then We grabbed Breakfast!  mmMMMmmmm IHOP!!!
We headed into Walmart and found $2 Movies!!!  Got 3 or 4 for my Father-in-Law and got about 6 for us!
Last stop of the day was Sally's!  I got more Tips, a new tub of Acrylic powder, Pink this time, some of those acrylic tip guides that I plan to use for french tips, and my UV topcoat!  The absolutely awesome thing was that I had a coupon for $5 off a $20 or more purchase, and a 20% off coupon too, so even though that topcoat was $17, my total was only $22!
After that we went home and I took off my old nails, and put on fresh new ones.  Then we put in Transformers 2 to watch, and got about 1/3 of the way thru it before we woke up to the credits rolling.  Apparently 3 hours sleep is not sufficient for us!

Saturday...
Rob went to the track with his dad and since it was FREEZING, I decided to hang with Mom and Cassie.  So I basically did nothing this day other than just hang out!

Sunday....
Ahh, I had such big plans for Sunday.  I planned to go grab a few groceries, and to crank out a few konadicures, and to straighten the house up a bit.  Instead we kinda did a major overhaul!  I cleaned out my dresser and closet and gathered 2 trash bags full of clothes and shoes for Goodwill.  Then we moved the dresser into the Closet and rearranged the closet.  Pushed the Loveseat into the bedroom where the dresser was, and rearranged the living room and cleaned like crazy!  We started around 10am, and when we stopped around 6:30, we were exhausted!  but in a  good way!  The house looks great now, and we have a nice open spot just waiting for the Christmas tree!
After we ate, we relaxed and watched a movie. And then headed to bed!

So yeah, I didn't even get polish on my nails until this morning since I got to work 30 minutes early!

I promise I'll have stuff to show you tomorrow!

I hope you guys had a great weekend!
Have a fantastic day!

Zoya Green Friday Promo Starts...NOW!!!

Hey all, just wanted to give you a heads up, Zoya decided to start their Green Friday Promo right now!!!

So RUN and place your order!!!

and don't forget to use the code GREENFRIDAY

Fall Week, Day 3: Falling Leaves

Good Morning Lovelies!

I hope everyone is Marvelous today!

I am SUPER excited!  I get the next 4 days off!  WOOOHOOO!!  I'm super excited because 3 of those days I will get to spend hanging out with Rob, Mom and my sister!!!!  I am hoping to be able to do a brief post the next 2 days, but I'm kinda doubting it with cooking and shopping, so if I don't I'm Sorry!
I  am also looking forward to playing with my new toys!  I just got in an order from Ebay, all the way from Hong Kong.  It's my UV Light(to go with my UV Top Coat I will get from Sally's on Black Friday with my Coupon!) and a Manicure/Pedicure tool.  The Mani tool is like what they use in nail salons to file acrylics.  This is going to save me so much time.  I can't wait to play with it this weekend!

I also want to say a huge I'm Sorry to all of you!  Things here at work have been insane!  Usually I have a few moments thru the day that I can jump on and respond to my comments.  Sadly though, that just hasn't been the case here recently!  I also have slacked off considerably with my comments on all of your fabulous blogs!  I do still read all my comments and cherish every one, but sadly time has not been on my side.  I'm not sure it will get any better 'til after the first of the year, so please don't be offended if I don't respond!

Ok on to today's mani!!!
This is yet another "inspired by" mani!  I know, I \know, but you guys keep posting such FAB mani's, I can't help but want to wear them myself!
I saw someone post pics of a mani very similar to this well over a month ago.  So if it was you, or you know who did this mani, please let me know in the Comments Section so that I can give credit where credit is due!

I started off with 3 coats of my precious Sinful Color's "Show Me the Way"
SOOO PRETTY!!!!!

Then I stamped the leaf pattern from M20 using Special Polish in "Wine", multiple times over the nail.

Then I stamped the leaf pattern from M31 using China Glaze "Passion", a gold chrome.  This was also stamped multiple times on the nail.  I was also careful to only apply polish to one leaf at a time on the plate and to scrape in a specific direction since I didn't want the bubbles or dots or whatever they are that is in this design on the plate.

Whats odd is that in the pics it's very hard to see the gold, it almost looks like it's barely there, but in reality it is quite strong on the nail!

Well, that's all for today!
I hope all my American readers have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  And I hope all my International readers have an fantastic Thursday!

I'm Thankful that I have so many AWESOME friends here!  I LOVE you guys!

Have a great day!

Fall Week, Day 2: Fall Glitter!

Good Morning Lovelies!

After seeing so many gorgeous glitter gradient mani's I decided I must try one for myself!

So I started with 2 coats of Evil Shades "Gothic Goddess".  This color is awesome.  In indoor lighting it looks like a nice brown with a gold shimmer.  But take it out into natural light and it becomes a brown toned purple with golden shimmer!  You'll see what I mean in the pics below.

After that I I broke out the glitters!  I finally got myself that 16 glitter sample pack, like the one in my giveaway.
So I used that!

In a water bottle cap I dumped a dime sized spot of Clear polish, and added an 1/8 teaspoon or so of the brown glitter.  I applied that to the whole nail.

I cleaned the cap, added another dime sized drop of Clear and this time dumped in 1/8 teaspoon of the orange glitter.  This I painted on from the cuticle edge, about 3/4 of the way up the nail.

Cleaned the cap again, and add more clear and this time I used the gold glitter.  This I painted from the cuticle, about half way down the nail.

Lastly I tried using Sinful Colors "Call You Later" for the green, because I really liked the varied sizes and shapes of glitter in the polish.  Sadly it wasn't dense enough, so I dumped some of that into the water bottle cap and added the green glitter from the sample pack.  I painted this on the lower 1/4 of the nail.

I REALLY loved this!  Mom, Cassie (my sister) and Rob loved it as well!  And I got a TON of compliments on it, which I don't get too often.

See, the tips look brown right?  wait til the next pic!

See!  Purpley-brown!  It's actually WAY more evident in reality.

Yup, I'm sold on glitter gradients!

I will most certainly be doing more of these in the coming weeks and months!

Oh, little side note.  Most people seem to add glitter from the tip, I did this opposite because I absolutely HATE when my tips look chunky 'cause of too much polish at the tips. So it that bugs you too, think of doing it this way!

Well that's it for today!
I hope you guys have a wonderful day!

Fall Week, Day 1 : Blatant Plagiarism

Good Morning Lovelies!!!

WOW! I gained over 100 followers over the weekend!  Goodness gracious!
I'm blown away!
Thank you!

Contest Note:
PLEASE be sure to add if you are a follower or not, this will make my life WAY easier.
ALSO, I am getting entries at my pwrlftrchick email addy.  Please make sure you email Kronicles.Kontests@yahoo.com to enter!
Thank you!

Today's Mani idea came from the Lovely Nihrida.  When I saw her Leaves Mani, my first reaction was "WOW, that is GORGEOUS!"  my next reaction was "I GOTTA DO THIS!!!"

So I did, which is why I titled this post like I did!  :)

I figured I better make it a bit different.  So I decided to do each nail it's own "leafy" color!

I started with a base of Wet and Wild "Rustic" from the Craze collection.
I am so addicted to this color now!!!  It's gorgeous!

Then I added 1 coat of various polishes over "Rustic".
Now here is where I kinda screwed up.  See I varied the finger I put each color on one each hand.  And I took a picture of my left hand pre-Konad, but took a picture of my right hand post-Konad.  So bear with me while I identify each top coat per finger on both hands, LOL
That was confusing!

Ok, let's go pinkie to thumb(all are 1 coat):
Sinful Colors "Show Me the Way"(it was more visible in reality)
Hard Candy "Sweet P"
no top, just "Rustic"
Hard Candy "Lava"
Thumb was all of the above.  I dabbed on spots of color, wiped the brush off, then stippled with the end of the brush to diffuse the edges better and make it less bumpy.
Then I broke out M56 And stamped it 3 times per nail to it was all covered, and voila!

On this hand the colors were as follows, pinkie to thumb:
Hard Candy "Lava"
Sinful Colors "Show me the Way"
No topper, just "Rustic"
Hard Candy "Sweet P"
All of the above!

You'll have to excuse the lack of clean-up.  We were at the track when I did this and I ran out of Q-Tips during Konading, so I had none for clean-up.

Thank you Nihrida, for the AWESOME idea!  I would NEVER have thought to use the tip image this way!
And thanks for letting me "Borrow" your idea!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

A MULTITUDE of things!!!

Good Morning Ladies!

There is so much I need to cover today, so bear with me!

Ok, First, I just want to thank everyone for the comments that you take the time to leave!  I LOVE reading them!  And I really strive to reply to them, each of them.  This past week has been ridiculously busy, to say the least, so sadly I have not been able to take the time to respond.  I'm very sorry!  But please know that I absolutely cherish them!  Hopefully things will get better soon and I can get back to responding as well as commenting on all of your blogs!!!

Next...
Lori posted many questions for me yesterday, so I figured I would respond to them here on the chance maybe they may help someone else!  so here goes:

L:  I am trying to figure out how I can use my konad stuff for nail art on my clients. Can you comment on your thoughts about that?

C: I think this is a great idea!  Being able to offer Konad designs along with all your other talents is fantastic!  I would recommend maybe taking a weekend and sitting down with all your Konad plates and TONS of fake nails and stamping away to create design ideas to show your clients!  Also consider using multi-media nail art, like combining air brushing with Konad, or hand painted designs on top of a Konad full nail stamp!  I also think a color chart is a good idea as well.  you can even do this with a larger size fake nail.  Paint the top half white and the bottom half black.  Paint 1 nail this way for each of the polishes you can use to stamp with.  then stamp a full plate image over the nail using that polish.  Did that make sense?  For instance...if you have 25 polishes that work for stamping, paint 25 nails (black at the top, white at the bottom), then stamp an image over the whole nail with 1 of those polishes.  That way your clients can see what each stamping color will look like over a dark polish as well as over a light polish!

L: Is there an easier way to "fix" a mess up other than starting over and removing all polish?  Do you stamp over top coat?
C: I am gonna answer these at the same time.  The order I use is as follows:
Polish
Top coat
Konad stamp
Top coat
The reason I do it this way is actually two reasons.  First, I am WAY too impatient to wait for my nails to dry so I can Konad them.  Applying top coat helps them dry WAY quicker.  The second reason is this...If you have a nice thick layer of top coat, and then stamp an image that messes up or comes out wrong it can be fixed!  Simply grab a cotton ball or pad (do NOT use felt or cotton swabs for this, they take too much off) wet with Acetone, then quickly and with very little pressure swipe over the nail.  This should take just the Konad image off!  I have done this up to 4 times on a nail before I started taking off the base polish!  the key is to have a wet, but not soaked ball or pad, and to move quickly yet lightly!
Keep in mind though...doing this may cause the nail to appear cloudy, BUT the cloudiness will go away once you apply the top coat again at the end!

L:  Why does konad special polish in black bleed so badly? Any solutions?
C:  I think this can happen for multiple reasons.  I am going to assume that by "bleeding" you mean that the image drags when you apply top coat.  I hope I'm right, if not let me know!  If that's what your talking about I maybe can help!  First of all, all top coats react differently to Konad Special Polish.  I used to use Poshe top coat and found that more often than not, it smeared my images.  I have heard that China Glaze's Top coat does this as well.  I have heard on the Nailphile that she only ever got good results from Konad's top coat.  Nubar Diamont also drags for me.  It's quite frustrating!  I have found that the only thing that works MOST of the time for me is Seche Vite, BUT, brand new bottles of Seche seem to drag the image as well!  GRRR this is so confusing!
So, use an older, thicker bottle of Seche Vite, Apply ALOT of polish over the stamp using a very light touch, try to NOT go over the same place twice (when in doubt, let it dry a bit and apply a second coat if it needs to be evened out!),  and most importantly give the Konad polish plenty of time to dry before you apply the top coat, 5 minutes should be more than enough.
You can also try Wet and Wild "Black Creme" instead of Special Polish!  I find it can dry a bit quick for me, but alot of people swear by it!

I really hope this helps girl!

1 more thing then off to todays mani!
I will be adding my email address in my profile, so if anyone has a question you can contact me that way if you prefer!

Ok!  today's mani is a vault pic!  I have LOTS of new fun stuff to show you guys, BUT, I haven't had time to do anything with my pics, soon, I promise!
I started this look with Pure Ice "French Kiss", a dark blue creme.
Then I went at it with M64 and White Special Polish.
This is a look I wanted to do in the Summer time that I never got around to.  Sad, cause it is definitely bandanna-ish!

I just LOVE this!
It will definitely be brought back this summer!
Sad thing is, this stayed on my nails for exactly 5 minutes, just long enough to take pics, and get started on the next mani so I had vault pics for ya!

Next week will be FALL WEEK!  All fall inspired mani's!

Well, that's it for today!
I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Asian Influence

Good Morning my lovely readers!

Before I even begin to think about the mani I'm showing you today, I just wanna let you guys know..

I'M SORRY!!!!  I know, I know, when on earth am I gonna get off my tush and do my giveaway?!?!?!

I assessed my stash and It is better than I thought, SOOOOOO....Friday (i hope) I will be starting my giveaway, so keep your eyes peeled!!!  eww, where did that saying come from anyway...it's kinda gross!

Moving on...

Today's mani is asian inspired.
I wanted to start with a red base, so what more appropriate color to use than China Glaze "China Rogue", 2 coats here!
Then I added a pattern from M62, using Wet and Wild "Black Creme".  I actually had a hard time getting the image to transfer properly, the W&W seems to not work for me consistently.  So where I had issues I just went back in with my Stripe Rite in Black to fix it up.  This design reminds me of Daniel's head band from Karate Kid!  I LOVED that movie when I was younger!!!!

I wanted to show this to you with just the tip image, because I think it looks great just like that.  But, as always, if some is good, more is better!!!!

Then I went in and stamped the center image from S06 using China Glaze "Passion" in the open space near the bottom of the nail..  Something to keep in mind when using this image is that the design can be rotated so the lines that separate the image into 4ths are either in an x or in a +.  Look closely at the image below and you will see what I mean.  To me it has a completely different look depending on how it is placed.

See, look at the difference in the ring finger and the index finger!

Well Ladies, that's all for today!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Special Announcement!!!

Hello again my Lovely readers!!!

I have something super exciting to announce today!

I was contacted by Brooke of Getcha Nails Did and asked if I'd like to join her and Helen of Helen and Sheenie's Nice Things and start a new blog!

A food blog!!!!

How exciting is that!

So without Further Ado, May I present....

So come along and join the fun as we create mischief in the kitchen!!!!

Long Time, No See!!

Well Hello Lovelies!!!

I am so sorry I was MIA yesterday!

I always get to work 15 to 30 minutes early everyday and I use that time to crank out a post real quick for you all.  Well, my boss was out of town last week, and when I got in to work and opened my email, he had made some requests for info I needed to gather for him that will probably take me at the very least, the rest of the day today to finish (I hope).  Then I thought, "I'll post when I get home tonight"!  But no, I fought a headache all day yesterday that Ibuprofen wouldn't touch, and by the time I got home, it was a full on migraine!  Rob convinced me to take a short nap, saying he'd wake me up shortly.  So around 6pm I laid beside him on the couch and tried to fall asleep.  The next thing I knew, he was waking me up to go to bed!  So I slept from 6pm til 4:45 this morning!  Apparently, my body doesn't like it when I only get 7 or so hours of sleep across a weekend!

I will share pics of this past weekend sometime this week!  Promise!

Ok, so on to today's mani!

For this mani I started with 2 coats of Milani "Whimsical"
Then I broke out China Glaze "Harmony" and Konad Plate M62.

Click it to make it bigger!

Oh and sorry for the lack of clean-up!
I jumped the gun on the picture taking!

Also, real quick I just wanna say again just how FABULOUS Kathleen of OC Nail Art is!
I used to place my Konad orders with WowSoCool, but I kept hearing about how great Kathleen was, so I decided I better see for myself!
I placed my second order with her during my lunch break on Thursday.  Guess what I got in the mail yesterday...Yup, already got my plates!  She is so super quick it's AMAZING!  I used to have to wait a week minimum, now it's like 3 days!  She's AWESOME!  Kathleen has no clue that I have a blog so it's not like I'm getting special treatment!  So next time you're ready to place a Konad order, be sure to give her a try if you haven't already!!!  I don't have a code or anything, but Brooke at GetchaNailsDid does!!!

1 last thing....Don't forgot to enter KONADomania's 100 follower giveaway!  It end November 20th!  Click HERE to enter!

Well it's time to start work, so off I go!
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Day!

Something Bright for this Cold, Dark, Damp Day!

Good Friday Morning Lovelies!!!

Today is yet another cold, damp, dark day!  Makes me wanna go home, and curl up on the recliner with a blanket, a MASSIVE cup of coffee and a book!  Immediately followed by a nap!  Yes please!

So to brighten up this dreary day I thought I'd show you a mani that I did that I decided I HAVE to do again this spring!  I just LOVE this.

Today's Mani started with a Franken for Rescue Beauty Lounges Bikini Bottom.  I followed the Fabulous Dr. Frankenpolish's recipe, you can find it HERE.  I think this took 3 coats for me.

Then, I applied my french tip guides.  Appearently I didn't wait long enough, as you will see in the pics below, because I got lines from where I pressed the guide down to be sure it was stuck completely.

Next I removed the polish on the tips, to prevent a thick chunky tip later on!

Then I painted OPI "Do you Lilac it?" on the tips.  I think I used 2 coats here.

Then, using Special Polish in White, I stamped the wavy design on M62 to the smile line.

This just screams SPRING to me!

Well Ladies, that's all I have for you for today!

I have a Fabulous mani planned for tonight and I SOOOO hope it turns out half as good as it does in my head!
Then I have a FULL weekend planned!
On Saturday, Mom, Cassie(my sister), Rob and I will be goin to Philly to spend the day!  They have an AWESOME Market so I can't wait to explore!  I'll take lots of pics to share!  Cheesesteak, here I come!!!
Then Sunday, Papa B (my father-in-law), Rob and I are heading to the track, to test out the new carburetors on the Galaxie and get it ready for the first of the season next year!

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

M70...AGAIN?!?!?!?!

Good Morning Lovelies!

I hope everyone is doing wonderfully today!

Today I will show you the Mani I sported until last night!
I had a mani in mind but due to the pattern I had chosen it didn't quite pan out.  I will try again in a week or so with a different pattern, so I wont reveal what I was going for today!

What I wound up with I liked alot, so I didn't mind not achieving what I had originally planned!

I started out with my go to black..Wet and Wild "Black Creme".  How I lived without this stuff for so long I will never know!  1 coat and opaque!  I just look back at all the time wasted with China Glaze "Liquid Leather", and shake my head!
I then mattified it with a coat of Essie "Matte About You".
Then I broke out the China Glaze "Millennium" and M70 and went to town!

Sorry this pic was pre-cleanup!
Also, I toyed with the idea of adding Matte About You on top, and tried it on my pinky.  As you can see, it smudged!  But what you can't see is that it took away all the shiny chrome effect.  It left it light grey, BLAH!
So definitely DON'T cover this with another coat of Matte!

Well, that is all I have for you today my dears!

I hope you all have a Fantastic day!

Long ago in a Galaxy far far away...

Good Morning Lovely Ladies!

Do you remember, way back, when I tried to do the zebra and leopard lace mani and it failed miserably?  It failed because the colors I chose were too dark for the black to show up?  Well, this weekend I decided to give it another go!  I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!!  Mwah-ha-ha-ha!

Ahem....

Ok, I'm good now....

So!  I scanned my stash for nice, bright colors.  I wasn't gonna end up failing again!

I started with 2 coats of Rimmel "Pulsating" .
Then I took out my Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in "Whirlwind White" and turning that flat brush on it's side, I made a thin-ish white stripe diagonally across the nail.
Once this was dry, I went back and painted on top of it with 2 or 3 coats of China Glaze "In the Lime Light".
See, I told you I picked bright!
Then it was time to break out the Konad...M57 to be exact.
I can't remember if I used Special Polish in Black or the Wet and Wild Black Creme, but yeah, I used a black...
First, I stamped the Leopard Lace Pattern over the green.
Rob really liked it like that, so, I thought I'd take a pic of it like that:

Yeah, I like it like this!
I shoulda left well enough alone.
BUT NO!
If some is good...more is better!

So, next I stamped zebra stripes on either side of the lace.  I made this a bit easier by using the small green side of the stamper and also by picking up the image so I had the flat outer edge of the design on the stamp, so I could run that against the lace.
I shoulda taken a picture of what I'm talking about.
Uh....here's a very poorly drawn sketch of what I mean:

Does that make any sense?
If I have a nice straight edge of the image, I can run it along side the lace and keep it from overlapping.

Oh, and thanks for pretending that the black squiggles are zebra print, LOL

OK, Back to the action...Here's the final result:

I now remember looking at this that I used Wet and Wild.  For whatever reason it didn't wanna play nice, and I wound up removing and restamping the zebra multiple times, before just giving up.
I knew I wasn't leaving this on, so I just said, forget about it!

This will be one I will probably break back out when the warmer months finally come back around!

That's all for today.
Tomorrow I'll show you what I am sportin' right now!  I was gonna share that today, but thought you guys might be getting tired of plate M70!

I hope you all have a Marvelous day!!!

More M70 Love!

Good morning Lovely Ladies!  (and Gents if your reading this!)

The lovely "L" asked me yesterday what Acrylic products I use, so first I thought I'd share that, for her and anyone else who may be curious.

I use all Beauty Secrets products, that I purchase from Sally's.
I have had good results from this and feel that it's a good product without paying WAY too much $!

I also use their Non-Acid primer and Dehydrant prior to application.  I really think those two products have made a  HUGE difference in the longevity of the adhesion of the acrylic to my nail.  I don't have near the lifting that I had prior to using these products!

For today I thought I'd show a little more love for M70.  It's a very underused plate in my stash, but oddly enough, I was quite shocked when Michelle picked it, and I had plans to use it for this weeks mani as well!

I LOVE the look of chrome polishes over black.  I don't knwo what it is but I just LOVE it!
So I started with 1 coat of Wet and Wild "Black Creme".
Than I broke out M70 along with China Glaze "Harmony" and "Cherish".
I painted a strip of Harmony over the wavy portion of the design, and covered the rest on Cherish.
The trick to the scraping, for me at least, is to scrape so that 1 of the colors isn't drug over another color.
Here was the final result (just ignore the weird bald spot on my index finger)

I really like how this came out!
Well, that's all for today.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Award!
The super sweet Halifax of Sparkled Beauty tagged me!
Thanks sweetheart!!!

And Finally...

I got tagged for the Kreative Blog Award

By none other than the awesome Sasha aka Nihrida
Thanks girl!!  You ROCK!
***UPDATE: Leanne of Do Not Refreeze also tagged em for this!  Sorry hun, I had a brain fart!  U ROCK TOO!!!***

Rules: List 7 facts about yourself and award another 7 bloggers.

SOOooooo  7 facts about me:

1) I once, for about a month had BRIGHT Magenta hair.  this color:

Color I used was: Beyond The Zone Color Jamz Bubble Head Pink

I loved every minute of it.  Kids thought I was some kind of Superhero!  But sadly, Even though I was dressed in nice, Office Manager clothes I was completely ignored, and basically refused service at JCPenney.  The nasty comments I got now and then proved too much for the very little self esteem I had, so I changed it back to brown.  Funny thing was, the person that was most upset was a pretty conservative lady that goes to my church!  She fussed at me and told me that the Magenta was GORGEOUS with my skin tone, how dare I go back to brown!
I also was told I looked like an Anime character!

2) I grew up in a single parent household and I am here to say that anyone who says kids in single parent households are missing out are full of it!  My Mom ROCKS!

3) For about half of my childhood, Mom, my little sister, and I, lived with my Grandmother and Grandfather.  We lived on 11 acres of land, all but 1/2 and acre was woods!  I loved it!

4) I own more bottles of pink toned nail polish than any other color, and yet, I wear pink very very rarely
.
5) 14 years ago during a mission trip to Mexico with my church, I was involved in an accident.  I was cooking at a gas stove, and though no one is sure of why, it exploded, and me and my friend who was also cooking, were engulfed in flames.  I saw the fire come at me, and it looked like it hit a "windshield" in front of my face, just like the water looks when you drive through a car wash.  I was lifted off my feet and set back down on top of broken glass(from the oven door) about 8 or 10 feet back.  I had a small piece of glass in my foot, and few scratches on my legs, and my hair which was in a ponytail behind me and was so long it went down to under my butt, was burned to shoulder length.  I was saved that day by the hand of God, no ifs ands or buts about it.
I refer to this incident as my Spiritual Haircut!

6) I want to be Abby from NCIS when I grow up!

7) My man and I LOVE goin for a ride on our bike, but rarely get the chance!
It's a 2006 Honda VTX 1800F, and is the biggest V-Twin engine in production(or was in '06).
It has more displacement per cylinder than a 426 hemi!!!
Here she is:

It may not look it, but she is BIG!

And...I tag:

well, almost everyones been tagged.
And I think your ALL lovely, and Kreativ and I Love all your blogs!!!
So I tag EVERYONE who has NOT YET been tagged!!!

Mixed Feelings

Good Morning Lovelies!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  Mine was kind of a roller coaster of emotions!
I got to hang out almost all day Saturday with my Sister and Mom, which was AWESOME!  I absolutely LOVE being able to spend the day with them!
But, Rob was sick all weekend!
And I got a bunch of konadicures done yesterday so now I have all sorts of stuff to show ya!
But, I'm getting ready to head to the dentist at 10am this morning because I can't bite down on anything!  The same tooth on both sides of my mouth just screams at me when I bite down on ANYTHING!  From what I've gathered after a brief search online, this is usually a fractured tooth.  Sometimes they can be bonded, other times, a root canal is required.  I really need this to be soemthing easily and cheaply fixed!  I dont have the funds to have to pay a big bill, so I've been crying off and on all morning, tryin to decide if I can live off soup for the next few months.
***UPDATE:  just got back, Doc thinks it's stress related clenching and biting that's irritating the ligament around the teeth, so now i get to wear a goofy mouth guard at night, SEXY!  LOL  Hopefully this will fix it, just not looking forward to having to wait for 2 weeks to see!***

Saturday before I headed to Mom's I ran over to Michelle's so I could shape up her nails a bit better and give her a new Konadicure.
They still aren't as thin as I'd like, but I'd rather them be a touch thick and her still have her cuticles and the sides of her fingers intact!
After the shaping job, we began the task of picking out what she wanted!  Yes, this is a task!  LOL!  Michelle is like me, there's just so many options, I can't pick!!!

She picked out China Glaze "Secret Periwinkle".  It took 2 coats to get that nice and opaque and even.

Then we broke out M70 and added that using Special Polish in Black.

Well, that's all I have for today.  I'm off to pray for a cheap dentist bill.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sad but True

Good morning Lovelies!!!

It's Friday!!!  YAY!
I hope everyone has something fun and/or relaxing planned for the weekend!

Today I have for you...well, not much, that's the sad part!
I have a very simple, not very exciting mani to show you.  I have plans to crank out a few this weekend since I'm kinda scraping the bottom of the barrel, or vault, as it may be!

BUT FIRST!
I wanna show you guys 2 polishes that I found by chance a week or two ago, while I was doing grocery shopping.  It occurred to me that I always liked Rimmel polishes, since they seem to release some cool colors every now and then, and decided to take a look.  Now...before I show you pictures...these polishes are about 100 times better in person, the camera just could not pick up the depth and multicolor awesomeness that are these polishes!
So first we have Hard Edge:

Hard Edge is a Wine color with a purpley undertone and an almost golden shimmer.
It shows purple-burgandy at the edges, then wine closer in, then finally a brighter golden wine color in the center.
In the bottle I can also see green at the edges, but I don't have the swatch with me so I can't remember if it showed on the nail.
Sadly it just doesn't show in the pics like in real life!

Next we have my favorite of the two, Night Before:

Isn't that gorgeous???

Night Before is a Pinkish purple with a blurple undertone and magenta highlight.
So from the edge inward it goes from blurple, to purple, to a pinkish purple, to almost magenta in the center.  And in certain lights it even has some golden tones to it!

While Hard Edge is a warm wine that leans slightly brown, Night Before is definitely in the purple family.
These are just so gorgeous in real life!

Mom has commented to be frequently that seeing the pictures on here and seeing the mani in front of her is almost like seeing 2 different manis!  That while they look good here, they look fantastic in person!
I don't know if I tend to gravitate toward hard to photograph colors, or what, since my camera isn't top of the line, it is supposed to be a GREAT camera, so it should be plenty high quality enough to take pics of polish!  (Thank goodness for Christmas gifts, or I'd still probably not have a digital camera!)

OK, on to the very VERY old vault pic I scrounged up for ya!

Here is China Glaze "For Audrey" with M45 in black on the tips:

Pardon the chunky acrylics...this is probably 6 months old, before I got good with acrylics and realized they didn't have to be so thick to be strong!
They are pretty beat-up, I had been wearing this for many days before I took this pic.
To me, For Audrey just calls for polka dots and bows and such.  It's just such an awesome vintage color!

Well my dears, That's all I have for you today!
I hope I inspired you to maybe take a look at your Rimmel display and see what may be waiting for ya!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend!!!

P.S.
Thank you all for all the wonderful comments the past few days!  I will be 100% done with Invoices today, and will be back to responding to comments next week!  Thank you for understanding and being patient with me!!

Ruby Leopard

Good morning Lovelies!

First I just wanna say that I know I've been tagged for the Kreative Blog award a few times now (THANKS!!!)  and I will do it, I just gotta get through this week and I will have a bit more time!  So I'm not ignoring you!!!  I promise!!!

Next...have any of you seen THIS???  Am I the only one that started gagging when I saw that?!?!  I cannot imagine!  Looking at this is like the visual equivalent of fingernails down a black board!  I'm just cringing as I type this!
My goal is always to make my nails as thin as possible, so that, to me atleast, is just so wrong on so many levels!!!
:::Shivers:::

MOVING ON!!!!!

Today I have a look that was suggested to me by the lovely AllYouDesire back when I did the 7 things tag!  She had a great idea, and I ran with it!!!

I started with 2 coats of my absolute favorite red ever... China Glaze "Ruby Pumps"!

I grabbed my Wet and Wild "Black Creme" and M57 and went to town.....
Behold...the elusive Ruby Leopard!

What is up with my ring finger????  I just saw that!  I'm trying to make it do that right now and it wont!
And my other pics are at home on the laptop!  UGH, sorry about the weird mutant finger!

I know it's short...again...but that's all I have for you today!

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

Colorful Little Squares

Good Morning Lovelies!

I had 2 Rimmel Polishes I discovered at the store last week to show you today, but, surprise surprise, I forgot to write down the names!  And I can only see 1 name in the picture, oddly they aren't listed in Rimmels website either!

Soooo, all I have for you today is a simple Konadicure.  Oh, And I'll show you what I've been sporting  the last few days!

Lets do that first...
Since Sunday night when I was tempted for a brief moment to throw my Konad kit across the room, I decided to take a break from my Konad and just wear a color....alone....without adornments.  I know, It's shocking!  But I picked a pretty one!

China Glaze "2NITE"
(I know, not a great pic, bad lighting!)
This always looked blue to be, but I really think it's more of a periwinkle!  If my hand is against something blue, it looks lavender, if it's against something lavender it looks blue!

Ok, on to the Konadicure!
I started with 2 coats of Color Club "Worth the Risque"
And using Wet and Wild "Black Creme" I added the squares design from M61.

I actually really like this, even though some of the image didn't transfer properly!

Sorry it's so short for ya today!

I hope you all have a great day!

Flying squirels and Michelle!

Good morning Lovelies!

I hope everyone is doing well this morning!

I am a bit sleepy!
I was woken up around 1:15am this morning to Macy flippin' out and barking her head off!  I asked Rob what was goin on, and he said she was hunting a flying squirrel!  Yes, these little cuties:

(got image from google)

They are seriously precious little things!  And since we live in the woods, they like to live in our roof!  It's pretty entertaining listening to them running around, you can hear acorns rolling around, it drives Macy insane!
Well I realized this morning that I wish I woulda had my wits about me to grab the camera, but sadly, I was too out of it!  It will happen a few more times this winter, so I will be sure to grab a picture at some point in time!
Anyway, we had to catch Macy, which is NOT an easy task!  Then had to track down the squirrel and catch it and bring it outside where it would be safe.  Then, of course once all that had been done, we let Macy out of the bathroom, since thats where we trapped her! and she had to investigate herself to make sure it was gone!
I've decided getting woken up at 1:15 is not a fun thing!
But at least me and Rob are crazy animal lovers who can put up with this kinda thing!  We get bats in the house from time to time too!  We still can't figure out how they get in!

Ok, moving on!

Saturday, Michelle my bestest bud and none other than owner of The Obsessed Beauty Junkie, came over and got a set of acrylics and a Konadicure!  Sadly this is not my best work!  I promise to fix ya soon Michelle!  I just didn't get to shape them as well as I could have.  I have a heard time shaping other peoples acrylics with a file, I'm always scared I'm gonna wind up scrapping their cuticle and making a sore spot!
Between that and seeing the clock ticking time away and getting closer and closer to the time out dinner guest were arriving, and nothing had been started....I started rushing, never a good thing.

But for her mani, we did as follows...

First I laid down 1 coat of a light pink franken I made forever ago, so I don't remember whats in it!
Then I added 2 coats of China Glaze Temptation Carnation.
Once that dried I placed french-tip guides on and took off the polish from the tip.
I then added 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Wirlwind White and 1 coat of Pure Ice Platinum on top of that!
Then it was Konad time!
I used my Wet and Wild Black Creme and stamped the viney floral pattern from M73 over the tips.
Then, using the same polish, I stamped the floral pattern from M32, at the cuticle.
I finished it off with my Silver Glitter Stripe Rite by adding a line of glitter to the smile line.
To me having a line there just makes it a bit more polished looking.

It's a bit messy, Sorry Michelle!

Well I hate to run, but I have invoices calling my name!

Oh, one more thing!  Please don't take offense if I don't have time to respond to comments this week!  I love reading what you all have to say, but may not have to time respond this week!!  SORRY!

Have a great day everyone!

The Konad Force is NOT with me!

Good morning Lovelies!

Today, and for the rest of the week, I will be SWAMPED!  It's invoice time at work, and that means hand generating approx. 1,000 invoices, not my idea of a good time!

This weekend SOOOO did not go as planned!  Had a great time doing Michelle's Mani, which I will share with you tomorrow, but due to time running out, it certainly is not perfect.  SORRY MICHELLE!
Sunday I headed over to Mom's and hung out with her and cranked out a few mani's before it was time to head home.  Once I got home I intended to crank out a few more, but alas, the Force was SOOOO NOT with me!  I fought with 2 different designs for over an hour!  Then I gave up, and painted my nails with 2 coats of China Glaze 2Nite and called it a night.  It's kinda refreshing to have a nice smooth pain color on though.  No, I'm not giving up my Konad ways, I just haven't worn a plain color, with no adornment, simply cause I like it, in FOREVER!  So it's kinda nice!

For today I'm goin way back, to over a week ago, to show you what I wore to the Ford race.
Of course Ford is the blue oval and the oval has a chrome border.  So I played off that.
I did 2 coats of China Glaze Frost Bite, which is such a pretty blue, but oddly looks a shade or 2 lighter in the pics below!
Then I broke out China Glaze Millennium (I know I know....AGAIN!) And stamped the criss-cross pattern from M64 over it.

As you can see, the force was weak the morning I did this too!

I actually got up early the day we were leaving, and ran into town to give my donation at Biolife.  I donate plasma twice a week!  It not only saves lives, but I get a little pocket cash for my trouble, which is nice, cause that's what I use for my polish addiction!  Anyway, I did that at the crack of dawn, got home, packed, and cranked this out.  So, I guess the lesson learned it, you can't be in a hurry when your tryin' to do a Konadicure!

BTW...no I didn't forget about the giveaway I promised!  I am almost done with gathering items, so hopefully I will be announcing it in the next 2 weeks!

Ok my awesome readers, that's all for today!
I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
